For calculation of tuition rates, students are classified according to level of doctoral work. Tuition rate will also vary according to whether the student is a New York State resident.
Level I: Entering students. In 2007, Tuition for Level 1 is $2,860/term for in-state students $6,720/term for out-of-state and foreign students. In-state tuition is available for United States citizens after one year of in-state residency.
Level II: Students move to Level II when they have completed 45 credits (including transfer credits) and passed the First Doctoral Exam. In 2007, Level II tuition is $1,793/term (in-state), $3983/term (out-of-state and foreign students).
Level III: Students move to Level III when they have completed all degree requirements except the dissertation. In 2007, Level III tuition is $710/term (in-state), $1,423/term (out-of-state and foreign students).
